Time to preorder! Transhuman #1 will be in store in March. Make sure your local comic shop preorders it from Diamond! For those not in the know I am doing the art on a new Image book called Transhuman, written by Jonathan "The Nightly News" Hickman, first issue of four coming out in March (that means it's time to preorder the book at your local comic shop - It's in the January edition of Previews). It's funny, it's smart and it's really different (which is pretty rare those days). And as an exclusive blog bonus another page, inked before coloring.

Happy New Year to all the blog readers. Best wishes for 2008. I know my year is going to be really busy. And to celebrate here is a lot of art not so new but never seen before. I did character design for Clive Barker (famous writer, director and painter) on a game project he had with Brian Gomez from Alchemic Productions and the game is now out and I have to say it looks pretty cool. Clive Barker's Jericho has a cool premise too:

"Before the creation of Adam and Eve, certain Apocryphal and Gnostic texts speak of a being first created by God in His own image that was later abandoned. Called the Firstborn, the creature was a singular being neither male nor female, dark nor light, both beautiful and terrible to behold. God was so disturbed by what He just created that He banished it into the Abyss to be forever forsaken, forgotten and unloved.

The Firstborn, too powerful for even God to keep from breaking into the mortal world, would make seven attempts to escape, each time taking back a piece of the earth to add to its domain and each time sent back to the Abyss. Fragments of time and space would form layers around Al Khali, entrapping pieces of history within its walls from the time of the ancient Sumerians to World War II. Over time, other great conquerors and civilizations would arrive to claim the city as their own. Eventually, the city was forgotten and buried by the sands of time.

The Department of Occult Warfare was created in the 1930s to combat the supernatural and unexplained. The Jericho Squad is sent to Al-Khali to prevent the unleashing of the Firstborn upon mankind once again."

I designed the main character team and one of the monsters, and the look of those guys ingame is pretty close to what I had envisioned so that's all very cool. Here are the designs:
